There has been a lot of news surrounding the Philadelphia Eagles as of late. There is always something with this team, from injuries on their offensive and defensive line to possible trade rumors. Of course, this week is no different. On Wednesday, September 29, NFL analyst for NBC Sports, Chris Simms, reported that Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie has apparently "given the green light" to pursue Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson.
Now, we as Philly fans have been pretty much aware that the Eagles had been in talks with Houston, the star quarterback. However, those talks had simmered once it was claimed that Watson did not want to come to Philadelphia. As news constantly changes with this team, this hot new story has changed as well. Fox reporter, Jay Glazer, reported via Twitter that Watson would not be coming to the Eagles.
This is what Glazer had to say about the situation between the Texans and the Eagles.
"Going through the airport, two different Eagles fans came over asking if Eagles were trying to get in Deshaun Watson trade. Nope, not in the in the mix this time. I couldn't tell if they were pissed or happy bc of the colorful words

"
Philadelphia Eagles will not be acquiring Watson...for now.
Now to keep this in perspective, Glazer is not right about everything. However, he usually is accurate on the news that he reports. Not sure exactly if this is a good thing or a bad thing, but as stated earlier, Watson does not seem to want to be with the Eagles. This story has always split fans. On the one hand, he is a top-five quarterback. On the other hand, he has a lot of legal issues surrounding him that won't be sorted out until February of next year.
For now, Philly fans will not have to worry about it because it seems that it will not be happening. Things can change in this league in a blink of an eye, but this seems to end up at the same place since these rumors began. The Eagles will be moving forward with quarterback Jalen Hurts as they are preparing on a short week to face the Kansas City Chiefs.
